Modern libraries and their activities must adapt to the information needs of users. In doing so, the user should be allowed complete freedom of choice and use of library services and system. In order for public libraries to meet the mark of modern standards, they need to be connected and managed. For such public libraries, they are organized into areas where the central regional library is in charge for a given area. The website of the central regional library is of key importance in providing information to both the users and the rest of the public libraries in the area. The purpose of the master's thesis is to analyze and evaluate the websites of the central regional libraries, so that we answered the questions whether the websites of central regional libraries meet the design and content recommendations for the designing of websites, also presenting their extended tasks. In the research, we used an expert study as a research methodology. The results of the research showed that the central regional libraries follow the recommendations for designing websites in several parts. When presenting its extended tasks, they had some shortcomings, such as the up-to-dateness of the regional program and the up-to-dateness of the regional sub-sites. Based on the results, it is possible to create new guidelines for caring for library websites.
