The diploma thesis is a systematic presentation of the Jewish interdependence between religion, nation and state. By doing so, I try to proved the necessity of the existence of the modern state of Israel, which stands on being a democratic state with the Jewish character.
In the first part of my dissertation, I touched on the history of Zionism and the influence of Judaism on it and foundation of the state of Israel. These included key socio-political events that have throughout history influenced the realization of Jewish aspirations for having state in Palestine.
I continued with the theological, geographical in philosophical dimensions of The Promised Lands in Palestine, for which Jews even today feel special significance. I also drew attention to some biblical starting points that can help understand form ancient Israel.
The last chapter is focused on the political engagement of the Jews, especially in the modern Jewish state. In addition to a clear outline of the political system of the modern state of Israel, I wanted to show the influence of religious parties and touch on Israeli national law, which defines this country as Jewish. Despite the fact, that the topic is wide and complex, you can find in diploma thesis a few focuses, that can help understand the dynamic of development between Jewish faith and state.
