Due to growing and ageing of the population the number of people living with vision disabilities is increasing. There is around 1,3 billion people in the world living with vision impairment disabilities, many of them are children and adolescent youth. Vision impairment commonly affects women rather than men. Different diseases and visual disruptions divide those people into different segments. Governments are trying to ease lives of blind and visually impaired people with financial social security due to their employment issues. There are already many accessories which are helping those people to live more independently. The number of new technologies is growing but the problem is that it usually isn’t adjusted to the needs of blind and visually impaired therefore they have trouble using it and are obliged to find other alternative solutions. Their home environment is adjusted to their own personal preferences and needs, so that they can easily navigate. Fashion industry is mostly based on visual perception and is often not inclusive. In my diploma thesis I focused on guides and principals of Universal design and I wanted to create an accessory or a device that would help blind and visually impaired to organise clothing, footwear and other stuff in their home environment. With the designed product I tried to diminish the gap between disturbed visual perception and combining clothes.
