This diploma thesis deals with the topic of the impact of modernization on flight safety. In recent years, we have been faced with the continued need to grow air travel with a constant desire to reduce costs and improve safety. This forces the aviation industry to constantly modernize and improve its systems. The diploma thesis presents the theory of aircraft modernization, with an emphasis on basic and improved instruments and systems on aircraft, which have the greatest impact on flight safety.
In the sequel, work focuses on aviation safety and accidents. Safety in the aviation industry is very important and directly related to accidents. The largest causes of accidents are presented through the analysis of accident statistics. The trend of their change over time as a result of the impact of modernization of instruments and systems on aircraft is shown. The diploma thesis also deals with two examples of actual accidents, where it is shown how modernization has affected or would affect them.
