In my diploma thesis I research the contributing factors to the development of delinquent behaviour in adolescents and the factors that were or are in their support. In addition, I am researching how the professionals employed at the Radeče Correctional Facility support the adolescents, who were put there. In the theoretical part, I first present the growing up period, then I focus on delinquent behaviour and related factors that contributed to its development, then I write about resilience and supporting factors, social work regarding the family and work with adolescents who have developed delinquent behaviour. The empirical part was carried out by conducting a qualitative research. Through interviews I obtained information from adolescents who are accommodated in the Radeče Correctional Facility and from the professionals employed there. During research, I found that the development of delinquent behaviour in adolescents is associated with several different factors, the most common ones being family problems, such as divorce, parenting strategies, etc. An important factor for the development of delinquent behaviour is also the society which encourages adolescents to delinquent behaviour. I have found that adolescents recognize supporting factors in their lives in different ways. Most adolescents spoke of their family as a supportive factor. An important supporting factor in adolescence is also a changed outlook on life and the presence of different values than they once had. In addition, I found that professionals support and prepare adolescents for life after discharge in a variety of ways, which adolescents also agree with, as most of them have repeatedly emphasized that they have the support of the professionals at the correctional facility.
