In my dissertation thesis I discuss the largest ships today.
The dissertation begins with a historical overview of the largest ships from prehistory to the present day.
The following chapter explains the dimensions of ships that need to be known to determine the size of a ship. The later chapter talks about canals, which, due to their dimensions, allow only ships of certain sizes to sail through them and thus determine the categories of ships. The types of cargo ships are then identified and described. The chapter describes the characteristics of individual types of cargo ships, the characteristics of the cargo they carry and the division of individual types of cargo ships. The core of the dissertation represents a description of the largest ships that sail the world's seas today and their comparison.
At the end of the thesis, the reasons for aiming at increasingly larger ships and the limitations for using them are described.
