The diploma thesis deals with glider winch launch. Hight, which glider can reach depends on tow cable length and the towing force of winch, but only to some extent. Length of tow rope and towing force are limited by cable mass and by strength of weak link, this will break before any damage can be done to the glider by overstressing it. Goal of this thesis is to analyze up to what extent is viable to extend tow cable length and increase towing force of winch for achieving greatest launch height, but still to remain inside limitations prescribed in flight manual of a glider.
