The research was conducted in the Bohinj, Notr anji Bohinj and Jelovica forest units. With the aid of an online questionnaire were determin ed that the forested areas of Bohinj were of great importance to recreati onal activities. Most of the peopl e that took the survey stated that their primary reason for visiting forest areas was trekking. 35% of those visit these areas multiple times a week, the residents of Bohinj scored an even higher percentage on this question at 55%. The main reason stated for not participating in recreational activities even more frequent was lack of time. Most of the people are fairly satisfied with the op- tions offered, however they would like to see more up kept hiking tra ils, recreational infra- structure, signposts, and educational paths. They were most satisfied with peace and quiet as well as the cleanliness and untouched natu re. The most popular areas amongst the ques- tioned were the Bohinj lake and its immediate surroundings, Pokljuka plateau, mountain meadows around Bohinj, the "Kerglc" joggi ng path and Rudnica mountain. The second part of the research was conducted in order to point out the conflict areas. These are the places where the recreational function of fore sts was ranked as level 1, and it was deter- mined that in majority of those at least one other forest function was ranked the same, and is in direct conflict with the recreational f unction of forests. A ne w mapping proposal was introduced in order to avoid thes e conflicts. It is s uggested that the surf ace for level 1 rec- reational function be reduced, the linear shape of level 1 recreational function be length- ened, and all other forested space be indexed with recreational function of forests on 2 lev- el.
