In this final seminar paper, we try to explore the reasons behind Marko Rupnik's successful career in the field of church art in a short outline. The two questions I dealt with in this seminar paper are why commissions of his work became so popular in Europe and the USA and why he receives commissions. I also found important the research of church art. The latter developed its own type of modern and contemporary art. A part of this process is also Marko Rupnik, who produces mosaics according to his theological principles within the Aletti research center. The mosaics represent a kind of combination of contemporary elements with Byzantine and early Christian ideas. The final seminar paper tries to illustrate his theological principles and how they affect his art.
