In the present thesis, we studied the role of a preschool teacher in intercultural education in kindergarten and for that purpose, we have performed a one-month project. The project was carried out in Kurirček kindergarten in Logatec, where I am employed. It was performed among a group of children aged 3 – 4 years. With the implementation, we wanted to show, how we can demonstrate cultural diversity to children naturally and spontaneously. The differences were not shown in the negative light but as something completely natural. The project aimed to show that the goal of intercultural education in kindergarten is not to emphasize the difference but to provide a sufficient supply of children's experience through which they realize that we are very similar among ourselves even though we have physical differences. In the theoretical part, we presented basic concepts such as integration, inclusion and multiculturalism. In this academic year, the Albanian girl joined our group. She is also the first time in kindergarten. Besides, there are children in the group who are representatives of Albanian, Russian, Croatian and Slovenian culture. Based on this diversity, we have designed a holistic project of intercultural activity in the group, through which children have learned to mark the different cultures they belong to. In the empirical section, we used a descriptive and causal non-experimental method based on the activities and immediate evaluation that we made with the help of videos, images and joint analysis of the educative. The purpose of the project, titled The Role of the educator in intercultural education in kindergarten, is to meet children with different cultural characteristics to respond to research issues and objectives pursued through the activities undertaken. I believe we have achieved all the goals we have made. We found that activities were suitable for children aged 3 – 4 years, as they were actively involved throughout the project, namely, in conversations, expressing their feelings and feelings through it. Through the project, the children received a series of experiences from which they were able to experience the importance of different languages and other characteristics of different cultures to witch the children in the group and their parents belong.
