In the valley of the upper Krka the traditional agricultural use is dominating. Due to its traditional use and preserved landscape features, the area has high potential for the development of rural tourism. The master's thesis explores the potentials and possibilities for the rural tourism development that would contribute to the conservation and development of the area, its cultural landscape and the quality of life of the local population. Following the theoretical framework, we prepared a spatial analysis of potentials and problems and carried out a workshop with stakeholders that have an impact on tourism development in the area. The aim of the thesis was to make a proposal for the development of rural tourism by defining the guidelines and the concept of development. According to our findings, the available development potentials in the area concerned enable the development of rural tourism, which would make a positive contribution to local development and the preservation of the cultural landscape. Appropriate guidance from cover organizations or the local community is needed. In all stages of development, it is sensible to involve the local population and stakeholders in the field of tourism, who, according to the workshop, are ready to participate in the development and develop the local environment in the direction of sustainable rural development. We discovered development potentials in organic farming, authentic boutique offer, recognizable landscape features and the integration and upgrading of existing tourist offer. The practical part of the assignment is the presentation of the tourist map »Info karta Krka«, which strengthens the identity of the area and strives for connection and cooperation. The map shows the main tourist and spatial information in a uniform graphic design. The »Info karta Krka« represents a potential product of tourist promotional material.
