The purpose of this master's thesis is to determine whether the Slovenian translations of terms from the American political system in articles from the website Rtvslo.si are correct and whether there are any alternative translations that are better. The correct translation of terminology is crucial for translators. Due to the differences between the American and Slovenian political systems, there can be problems when searching for correct translations and choosing translation methods. I determined whether the translations are correct based on their translation suitability and statistical data. I searched for alternative translations in the corpora Glosbe and Linguee. I checked the frequency of the found terms by using the search engine Google.
