Tsarism, which many people saw as an outdated social system, was no longer able to properly manage the country and propel its people's desire for a new society. Radical changes had emerged in all levels of culture. From the October Revolution of 1917 until Stalin's takeover of power, posters were the main medium for spreading political ideas and consolidating new power in Russia. This had resulted in a phenomenon called »poster reality«, in which symbols, formulated images and language determined political values and reduced politicians to importance of the posters contrived world.
