The topic of this thesis is an analysis of the usefulness of the open-source Sentinel Application Platform program for satellite imagery processing. The theoretical basis of satellite imagery pro-cessing methods is defined. The emphasis is placed on the supervised classification. All the main tools in the program, which are widely used in various processes, are described. Tools that were used in the classification process are analysed and described in detail. These tools were used on a test example where all types of classification methods are performed by the program. The accuracy of the classification methods is determined and the analysis of the method’s per-formance of the classified example is also made. SNAP was compared to other programs that allow satellite imagery processing.
