Nowadays, we are surrounded with the media, a mass of information and numerous images, all of which we all create jointly. Portrait as an image of an individual arises once more as a motif worth exsploring. In my final work, I have portrayed my closest contemporaries. Discoveries were made through a triad: the viewer, the person portrayed and the artist, an interest in material (recycling and experimentations) and visual perception. I was fascinated by the principles that Gabriel Stupica observed in the works of Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso. I share my interests with Sigmar Polke in the exploration of different faces of paintings, especially when using original or borrowed images. Two major turning points so far were signaled by my switching of the atelier and my newly acquired experiences. "Spellings", as I have named my images – writings, as well as the images taken and the use of objet trouvé in an image, carry a realistic component where multiple solutions are possible. In art creation, imprints, transfers and transformations, open an important field where painting events originate.
