The subject of this thesis is a research into the experiences of posted workers from Slovenia in the case of construction work in Germany and Austria. The referral of workers to other EU-countries is an important current topic of discussion. My focus in the thesis was on the working and living conditions of posted workers in construction. The theoretical part first offers an overview and explanation of the following concepts: free flow of services and work force, as well as posted workers. Connected to and relevant for this are also the Slovenian and international legislation for posted workers, presented in the continuation of the theoretical part and concluded by the description of working conditions of posted workers in construction work.
The empirical part of this thesis is concerned with the experiences and opinions of posted workers with regard to their decision to take up such work, the working hours, salary, safety and health at work, accommodation, returning home, family life, and documentation. The emphasis of my research was mainly on the needs of posted workers.
