In thesis we estimated phytoremediation potential of two industrial hemp varieties – ‘Futura 75’ in ‘Tisza’ on different location in Zgornja Mežiška Valley. The control location (unpolluted soil) was in Šentanel (Prevalje), three locations in Mežica and three locations in Črna na Koroškem; locations have different level of pollution with cadmium, lead and zinc. Manual sowing was conducted in June 2017, for each variety we provided 4 m2 of square area. A sample of soil was taken before sowing for measurements of pedological characteristics and content of Pb, Zn and Cd. The harvest was in October 2017, we measured the quantity of biomass in the plant tissues. The uptake of heavy metals was estimated in roots, stem (separately in the epithelium and pith; also gender-disaggregated for variety of ‘Tisza’), leaves and inflorescence. The most of Cd, Pb and Zn uptake in both varieties was in inflorescence, followed by roots, and the minimum uptake was in the pith of plant. In the short-term is the cleaning method with phytoremediation ineffective, but production potential can be deployed to obtain non-food components.
