The aim of this Bachelor’s thesis is to explain the influence of printing substrate and weave structure on the quality of print. This research is a part of another, wider research, the aim of which is to make recommendations that will contain written instructions which should be considered when printing the labels. In this research we used five textile ribbons with different material composition that are most frequently used for textile labels in the company Etiketa tiskarna d. d. (Printing office Label JSC). The company printed a source material for the material composition text on ribons by using the technique of flexographic printing. The text was printed in Helvetica and Verdana typefaces, there were three different type sizes 8pt, 6pt, 4pt and the leadings 10pt, 8pt and 6pt. We analysed the prints by using an optical and a SEM microscopes and an open source programme ImageJ. Afterwards we analysed results in Excel programme. The results of the research had shown that the type of printing substrate, weave structure and post treatment procedures of textile ribbons were the factors that most influenced the print quality.
