Organizations pay more and more attention to the motivation of employees and their work performance. The motivation and work performance of employees is influenced by many factors. In the master's thesis, we examine whether internal communication plays a role in greater work performance and employee motivation. Communication in the company X in the theoretical part is studied through a holistic aspect, which means that we relate to corporate communication, organizational communication and internal communication. Below we present work performance and motivation theories with an emphasis on substantive theories of motivation, the cognitive process theories of motivation are presented briefly. In the empirical research, we perform a semi-structured interview in company X. We find out that internal communication has an important role to play in the motivation and work performance of employees in the company X, but for an integrated approach to communication, a lot of effort is needed by senior and middle management. With a well-established internal communication system, it is possible to preserve personnel in organizations and prevent the loss of knowledge, which is the highest value of employees and organization. For a well-established system of internal communication, tools for internal communication need to be carefully selected. The key finding is therefore the conclusion that the internal communication system affects the greater work performance and motivation of the employees insofar as appropriate tools of internal communication and work processes are selected.
