Literature in the foreign language classroom through the eyes of theatre : magistrsko delo

This thesis gives a short overview of the selected methods, approaches and techniques for teaching foreign languages, and at the same time, emphasises importance of learner-centredness and creativity in the classroom. Furthermore, it presents an overview of how literature and drama techniques can be used in the foreign language classroom, and it highlights the main benefits of using drama and literature in foreign language learning and teaching. In addition, the thesis exemplifies how teachers can integrate drama techniques into the existing syllabus, and it also includes concrete drama games appropriated for classroom work and practical exercises integrating literary works. At the end, there are also a few original classroom activities that combine drama and literature, and a description of personal experience with drama and literature in classroom.

Izvleček

Magistrsko delo ponuja kratek pregled izbranih učnih metod, pristopov in tehnik za poučevanje tujih jezikov, hkrati pa poudarja pomen na učence osredinjenega poučevanja in ustvarjalnosti v razredu. Predstavi tudi pregled uporabe leposlovja in gledaliških tehnik pri pouku tujega jezika ter poudarja glavne prednosti vključevanja dramskih tehnik in leposlovja v poučevanje jezika. Poleg tega je v magistrskem delu je prikazano, kako lahko v obstoječi učni načrt vključimo dramske tehnike, predstavljene pa so tudi konkretne dramske aktivnosti, ki so pripravljene za delo v razredu, in praktične vaje, ki vključujejo leposlovna dela. Na koncu magistrskega dela je še nekaj izvirnih avtorskih učnih priprav, ki združujejo dramo in literaturo, ter opis osebne izkušnje z gledališčem in leposlovjem pri pouku.Ce mémoire donne un bref aperçu des méthodes, approches et techniques d'enseignement choisies, tout en soulignant l'importance de l'enseignement centrée sur l'apprenant et de la créativité en classe. Il présente aussi un aperçu des usages de la littérature et des techniques dramatiques en classe de langue étrangère, et met en évidence les avantages principaux de l'utilisation du théâtre et de la littérature pour enseigner la langue. En plus, le mémoire illustre comment on peut intégrer les techniques dramatiques dans le programme existant, et il comprend aussi des jeux de théâtre concrets appropriés, pour le travail en classe et des exercices pratiques intégrant des oeuvres littéraires. À la fin, il y a également quelques activités pédagogiques originales combinant le théâtre et la littérature, et une description de l'expérience personnelle avec le théâtre et la littérature en classe.
