Introduction: Partial edentulism is a great functional and aesthetic problem, which can be solved by partial dentures with metallic framework. When preparing coatings for further removable prosthodontics rehabilitation, patients, together with health professionals, opt for the use of precision elements for the sake of better function, aesthetics and other benefits. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work is to present the types of attachments which are currently on the market and are most commonly used. Methods of work: The methods that were used in the diploma work include a review of scientific literature from various online sources, magazines, books and articles, work in a dental laboratory, and the preparation of illustrative material. Results: In the diploma work partial edentulism, partial dentures with metallic framework, combined fixed-removable partial dentures and attachments as connecting elements are described. The emphasis is on the types of attachments offered by today's dentures market. Furthermore, a construction of fixed-removable denture replacement with two connecting elements, two-stage milling of lingual surfaces and interlock are documented and supported by illustrative material. Discussion and conclusion: Nowadays, the attachments are commonly used as connecting elements because they are more aesthetic than the conventional clasps. The market offers many different types, which gives us the opportunity to choose best suited ones depending on the situation. In the future, the use of attachments will probably increase because they are a very aesthetic and functional solution.
