Master thesis discusses the current legislation on recovery and resolution planning. It is based on the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD), which was implemented in Slovenian legislation with Banking Act (Zakon o bančništvu – ZBan-2) and Resolution and Compulsory Dissolution of Credit Institutions Act (Zakon o reševanju in prisilnem prenehanju bank – ZRPPB). This framework is supplemented by regulations and guidelines, whereas the European Banking Authority plays the leading role. The description of recovery plan is supplemented by some practical aspects from bank and group recovery plan.
The primary goal of this master thesis is to present the complex framework on recovery and resolution planning governed by different legal sources. The thesis presents the obligatory content and the procedure of implementation of recovery and resolution plans and adds an additional possibility for future developments.
