In thesis I present the influence of technology development on Slovenian health system. Integration of health technology can completely change the way we treat patients, furthermore it can also affect access to the rights from compulsory health insurance.
In the thesis I describe Slovenian health system, where I focus on legal regulation of compulsory health insurance and the rights that originate from it and in the next chapter I describe the development of new technologies. Those are not bringing just new opportunities, it is also bringing us challenges, which I touch upon in the next chapters.
In my thesis I especially focus on four key subjects. In the first part I research legally most relevant topics in relation to tehnology development, namely the new ways of saving and processing personal data and the legal questions in regards to the protection of personal data. The next chapter includes the findings about telemedicine and personalized medicine and inclusion of new technologies in health services, with the emphasis on health technology assessment. In the second part of my thesis I focus on the situation in Slovenia, overviewing the already visible influence of the technology on Slovenian health system and describing my vision for the future of Slovenian health system.
