In my thesis, I have concluded that Fabre's texts are a source material for later staging. Staging adds meaning to text I am Blood, but interpretation of staging and text Etant donnés stays the same. Through the body and sexuality, breaking taboos of a body, which are posed by society and tradition, Fabre tries to recall the unity of a human that he had in the pre-oedipal stage in childhood. Therefore, a spectator is put in a position of a voyeur. In the end, there is no catharsis but a gap; the spectator finds out that this situation cannot be achieved.
