The field of improving the quality of education on the level of higher education as well as on
the other levels is a part of comprehensive debates in Slovenia and also in other member
states of the European Union. Consequently, the awareness that education is very important
integral part of every individual’s life means the assurance of performing various educations
on the highest possible level.
In the master’s thesis, the quality of education in the field of higher education in Slovenia is
presented, as well as the comparison with other foreign university. The goal was to study the
significance of methods and models of teaching and learning in order to improve the quality
of education and to propose possible improvements for the mentioned field. The changes
which occurred in the field of higher education in Slovenia are also presented.
Within the framework of the analysis, it was ascertained that the methods of teaching used
by the professors at the Faculty of Administration are efficient, as the students ascertain that
they learn a lot from them. They remember a lot faster in time of the lectures. As the most
often selected method of teaching, the method of explanation was selected. The analysis also
showed that students most often engage in producing the notes when they prepare for the
exam. They believe that the mentioned method is the most efficient. The comparison of the
used methods was also performed at the foreign university which proposed a few proposals
in order to improve the quality of education in Slovenia.
On the basis of the studied literature, sources and presented comparisons, the performance
of the method of teaching would have to be supplemented. Thus, the students would become
more successful. They would spend much less time when studying for the exam, as they would
acquire a lot of knowledge within the framework of the lectures. The students could be
ensured an additional improvement of the studies for the preparation for the exam by means
of the organized several day seminars.
