We discussed the problem of thermal stress in homogeneous, isotropic thick-walled tube. The banding theory was used to derive the equations. We took into account the actual thickness of the tube and the non-uniform temperature distribution on the inner edge of the tube. The temperature on the outer edge of the tube throughout the perimeter was considered constant. The temperature distribution in the tube was derived by using complex variable method. Based on known temperature distribution we used banding theory to derive the thermal stress equation in the tube. The results of our equation match quite well with the results published by other researchers.
