The purpose of the diploma thesis is to get acquainted with the technique of polygonal modeling and digital sculpting and to create a 3D character shaped by female proportions using 3D computer software.
The theoretical part includes a brief description of the beginnings of computer graphics and a presentation of 3D modeling. Two methods; polygonal modeling in digital sculpting, are presented in greater detail. Two programs; Blender and ZBrush are presented, as we will use them to design our character. Because our 3D character will be shaped by female proportions, we will look more closely at structure of the human body. We will examine the proportions, skeletal structure, muscles and fat tissue.
The experimental part describes the process of creating our own 3D character. It is divided into three part: in the first part, modeling of the female body and weapon, using Blender is presented. It is followed by presentation of designing clothes in ZBrush. The third part describes the process of applying materials and textures on the character. The final result of the diploma thesis is a rendered image of the character.
