In the electrical industry, temperature in products, such as electric motors, must often be measured. For this purpose, temperature sensors are inserted into these elements, for which the joint between the contact sensor and the wire is important. An existing temperature sensor that is welded with hot soldering is financially unfavorable. In my master's thesis,other possible merger procedures which could combine both metals and polymers in one assembly machine are presented.
In the literature review, both ultrasonic and laser welding of metals and polymers are described in detail.
The course of experimental fusing of electrical contacts between the silver-plated copper wire and the temperature sensor is described minutely.
In the master's thesis, both ultrasonic and laser welding are analyzed on the welding of the temperature sensor L 420 and silver-plated copper wire.
Because of joining thin wires, ultrasonic welding didn't give repeatable results, while we achieved good properties of the joint and repeatable weld quality with laser welding.
