We can no longer imagine contemporary journalism without digitization and web dimensions. Especially for sports journalism it is important that the content is up-to-date, high quality and interesting. One of the ways in which traditional text is refreshed is the use of aktualizmov. In this work we have tried to adequately theoretically highlight the concept of aktualizma, aktualizacija and sports journalism, including online journalism and online media. We analyzed the texts of the main Slovenian online media Delo and Slovenske novice with linguistic analysis. Unlike expectations, we find out that the use of aktualizmov is more frequent in the reporting of so-called serious and not tabloid media. However, at this point we must also expose that it is not important just the frequency of occurrence of aktualizmov, but also their type in intensity. With depth conversations, we find out that journalists are using aktualizme for enriching the language.
