One of the main features of our time is globalization. This phenomenon affects almost all aspects of our lives, especially economic activities, such as entrepreneurship. Modern entrepreneurship means doing business internationally. Entrepreneurs generally use two approaches to accessing the international market. The first is the approach with more control, whereby entrepreneurs need to study more documentation and control the business processes themselves. This method is very time consuming and costly wasteful. Another option is to trust a potential partner on the basis of a subjective judgment. This option seems to be more risky, but in deciding for a business partnership, it is important to save time and effort. In modern times, saved time can be a great business advantage. One of the most important factors of successful cooperation is trust and high level of confidence in the business partner. Usually, Russian entrepreneurs in the home environment, monitor their partners in reverse proportion to the level of trust.
It is important to analyze how Russian entrepreneurs control their partners in Slovenia, to what extent they trust them, and how they gain a balance between trust and control in a completely new business environment (in Slovenia). The fundamental research question of the master's thesis is, whether there is a link between the level of confidence and the degree of control between the Russian and Slovenian business partners in Slovenia. The aim of the research is to determine, whether there is a correlation between trust and level of control in business relations between Russian and Slovenian partners.
