The process of carrying out an experiment of testing the plate-tube evaporator, on which a numeric analysis with the ANSYS Fluent software was based on, is described. As expected, the results of the temperature field from the surface of the evaporator taken with an IR camera, and the results of the post-processing numeric recalcultation differ, mostly due to the numerical model geometry adjustment requirement and the presence of imperfect fit of the evaporator's components. The anomalies in the experimental results point to the irregularities between the contacts of the foil, tube and the plate of the evaporator. The temperature difference between entering and exiting the evaporator is comparable using both methods. Presented numerical model analysis is suitable for further research in producing heat exchangers with a similar construction.
